New Marriott Hotel Boosts Pell City Economy

The town plays suites by Marriott open on February 10th with 89 rooms and a $12 million price tag. It's the first Marriott property in St. Clair County. City leaders broke ground on the project back in September 2023. Officials from the City, County, Economic Development Council and Chamber of Commerce gather for the ribbon cutting. They welcomed owners Darshan Patel and Vishal Patel of Shivai Hospitality. Local reaction has been positive. Mayor Bill Pruitt shared his excitement about adding Marriott to the community. This addition highlights growing business interests in the area. The hotel comes with handy amenities like a fitness room, business center, outdoor pool, on-site laundry and free Wi-Fi. Every room includes a full kitchenette for longer stays. It's conveniently located near restaurants and shops, making it ideal for travelers.
