New Haven Teen Arrested for February Shooting

0:00Police in New Haven just charged a 16-year-old local boy with a shooting from back in February that left two guys injured. He got hit with two counts of first-degree assaults, plus carrying a pistol without a permit, unlawful discharge of a firearm, and first-degree. Reckless endangerment after his arrest this Wednesday, the incident went down around 1 a.m. on February 15th near the 100 block of James Street. Cops rolled up to a shot-spot or alert amid a big chaotic crowd from a fight on Chapel Street, and they tracked down the two 20-year-old victims, who had been driven away separately with non-life threatening wounds. Detective Thomas Brunsky from the Major Crimes Unit cracked the case and got the arrest warrant. Chief David Zinelli praised his team for navigating the mess, from the wild scene, to splitting up for the victims, and shouted out the community for. Their tips. Out of seven non-fatal shootings in New Haven so far this year, they've solved six. That's about an 86% clearance rate.
