New Family Hub in Manchester: Start for Life Program

0:00On March 28th, a fresh family hub just opened up on North Road and Clayton Manchester, aiming to give kids and young folks the ultimate head start. Toward happy, healthy lives, full of potential. It's a one-stop spot serving families across Clayton, Bezwick, and Open Shaw for children from birth to 19 years old, or up to 25-4. Those with special needs or disabilities, plus help for expectant parents too. They offer everything from practical advice and guidance to linking families with local schools and community groups for real support right in the neighborhood. At its core is the Star for Life program, kicking off with pregnancy info and rolling through newborn feeding tips, breastfeeding help early. Learning sessions, mental health for new moms and parenting groups to build strong bonds from day one. This hub marks the 5th best start in Life Center and Manchester, following spots in Longsite, Wife and Shaw, Cheatham Hill, and Gorton as the city.

1:00Rolls out a big strategy to back families with babies and young kids through school age. Councillor Julie Reed says, these hubs are game changers, creating safe spaces for kids to learn, play, and thrive, and they're already impacting thousands by pulling all the support together in one easy place.
