Why have I asked my age back guy I found on Angie.com to change my grandpa's trachea tube? Because I was so amazed by how quickly he replaced our air ducts. I knew I could trust him to change poppups too while I was on vacation. Make a quick young man. Ah, see? Poppup trusts you. I think we should call it doctor. Connecting homeowners with skilled pros for over 30 years. Angie, the one you trust to find the ones you trust. Find pros for all your home projects at Angie.com. Welcome back to with the first pick. We're going team by team with a perfect seven round mock draft. And today break it down on New England Patriots. Biggest needs are best fits and sleeper picks. It could make their draft. I'm Ryan Wilson. That's former tight and she and ran carton. And there's always before we get rolling here. That's fans left on the comments. The one name best case scenario. You'd love to see fall to the Patriots. They've got a little work to do this off season. They've been busy little bees here. Ran Romeo dubs they got they brought in a lives of air talker.
They son along the Alps of line dream on Jones to give a big contract to his and Etrusher Kevin. In addition to that. And they just signed Kindle. A little door to add some depth in the secondary. But here we are at the bottom around one. Pick 31. What do we do? one. What are we doing? Oh, boy. So it feels pretty easy to me, but I'll get your thoughts before I let you react to my reaction. So here's the thing, they may not be picking at this pick, because I mean, this could be the AJ Brown pick on draft. Oh, yeah, now that's that now we're cooking. And the price of poker may have gone up given the Jalen model terms in terms of what the patients may have to part with. But either way, I take your point. 31 will almost certainly be on the table. So for our reality here, they
got to make the pick because AJ Brown is still reading his book on the bench and fill it out for you. And I know you're saying, um, you know, I know you're looking at Peter Woods. I was actually looking at his teammate, um, the top of the list. Right? How long is Morgan Moses going to play? And he was, he was serviceable last year. But if we're building around our quarterback, but look, don't get me wrong. Peter Woods is certainly in the conversation here. I have Peter Woods ranked much higher than Blake Miller. But I'm just thinking about the, the specific needs of the Patriots and Denzel Boston would be in the conversation as well as with Casey and Steph C. Oh, but anyway, I defer back to you. No, I mean, this fair point, um, because Morgan Moses will be a free agent after the year. Uh, and they got bar more in Milton. They signed last year. And that's why I was saying to Peter Woods need to be as, you know, a luxury pick, but even, you know, Milton
Williams would be a free agent after this year, right? Let me double check. And by the way, when I look that up, uh, no, Milton's under contract for a minute. Okay. Well, those could be affordable years. So we'll see, um, the other thing I want to mention to you before we get going, Christian Lohm, uh, Caleb Lohmook, excuse me, still there's a left tackle out of Utah who told me he's been working on the right side during the pre drive process. Yeah, they all do though. Well, I'm just telling you what he told me. You can call him out. I'll give you his number. You can yell. No, no, I'm just saying because I'm sure Blake Miller's been taking reps, switching both ways. So I mentioned Caleb, though, because I know Mike Frabel said, well, Campbell's our left tackle. And he was banged up. And that had a lot to do with how he played down the stretch there, not the short arms necessarily. But Caleb Lohm perhaps gives you a fallback plan at left tackle because he's, yeah, but you can't have two fallback first round tackles there. No, okay. That are left only. Let's just go Blake Miller. Okay. All right. Yep. No, that's, that's a good point. All right. Patriot fans, let us know what
you would have done there. All right. Uh, Rand is a huge fan of all Paul linebackers. I mentioned that because Jake Goldase, Starrans in the face. But they, I also see my guy trade on Stukes, who's a big nigga. Yeah. Striker, did we switch back? Yeah, this is the PFF big board. Okay. So we're on the official PFF big board. We were mixing up for other teams here. Elijah Sirats there. If you're looking for a wide receiver, maybe a little too early, depending on what you, uh, how you have Sirac graded there. David Igbenosin is there, IGB. Just like a trotter is a really good offball linebacker. If that's something you're interested in. But I will defer to you, sir, because offball, they have Robert Spalain, good player, Christian Ellis, really a player. And after that, it sort of gets wide open.
But they have needs of the edge rush position. Caleb on chase on signed elsewhere for that really good year. They do have Harold Landry, who came over a little bit after. Yeah, let's see, edge. No, did I get a sudden is up there from El Hyde is a designated pass rusher. He's so so Derek more Derek Moore is getting he's getting a lot of love right now. Clearly is. I didn't have him great quite that high, but they like him here. He went three picks prior to this pick for us here for England. So to Chicago again, we had him in another month going to Chicago. They've been consistent. Let me look at my my edge rankings. I don't like Ramello height this high, but if you were around a pick the next pick in the third round, I would be interested, but he may be long gone. Because that's exactly who I was looking at. And I have him, I have him rated pretty high. I'm gonna pull up. You know what?
Or maybe we should take like I love if he weighed 250, I would take him in the top 32 picks. It's just that he's a little undersized. He's a little older, but he is a hair on fire guy. He gets after it. And I think he's I think he's better coming out than Caleb on chase on was. It's just Caleb. I was a little younger and a little bit bigger. He could have on what's huge coming out. Oh, this gives me my bad. I just want to see. Yeah, let's go Ramello height. Yeah, let's do it. All right, now we're into the third round here. So let's I think they're okay at running back and I just say that because John Coleman popped up there, but they're they're they just draft the trivia on Henderson in the round two. They have reminded Stevenson who they lean on. I don't know if you need another one in that room right now. What's the wider receiver situation? Striker. I see my guy Ted
Hurst there. What else we got? Malachi fields is at Brennan Thompson, the burner. He's just undersized. Jacobi Lane's a big target down the field. They can run a little bit. I don't know if anyone. Now, can we go back to best player available? I'm not opposed to to Logan Jones. Let's do it. He's a he's a good player and they do need help on the interior. They need some depth there. He's played center to the last three years. He hasn't given up a sack to the last two seasons. Has a super short arm, so he'll fit right in. All right, we're in the round four now. What do you think about Tyreek Sap here? Etrus help. I know he's you made a little you lip curl there. We don't need to necessarily double up, but he's more run than than Patrick. I don't honestly,
I don't know what position he plays. Okay, fair enough because he is size wise. He's six two on the dot 273. So right. And you know, he can play because I know that we list them as an edge, but I don't know like, I mean, yeah, he can play on the edge and go forward, but the spot dropping stuff is, I don't know that that's his strong suit. And I know they like to show the the one handed pick that he had in the drills during the combine, but I saw extreme tightness in his hips when he was flipping his hips and transition. Yeah. My note on him is top 50 run defender day three pass rusher. Yeah. So it's that sort of mix. All right. No, we're good there. Where are we at cornerbacks? Striker. Let's see what we got there because they got Kevin Byard at safety. They have Carlton Davis on the roster. Of course, in Christian Gazales.
So safety could also be a consideration here. Kill goers, a big slot. Devin Marshall's a outside physical price, oxygen, Julian Niel's the same. All the same, cast the characters here. And look at safety real quick. And then we have this new ski, Bishop at Cheryl, BJ Payne, Lorenzo styles. What do you think, or anything? Strike you. I think let's look at tight end. They signed Julian Hill, shout out to Campbell University, and they obviously have Hunter Henry, but they do have needs there. You're going to go with your guy. I mean, we went with with my guy last time. I know you're a Justin Jolly. Yeah. Justin Jolly, like Angelina. He's Jolly. Sorry. Yeah. Let's go with Justin Jolly. You can transfer to NC State, so it'll be coming home. You won't block for you, but he'll catch.
And he is very good at that. Very physical down the field. All right. Let's see what we got here. I don't hate the idea of Bryce Brett Betcher here, the linebacker out of Oregon. He's former baseball player, but he was like the heartbeat of that defense. And they had a ton of dudes there. I like this game. Fourth, maybe too high for you, so we can wait and see. But that's the name that sticks out to me. Jude Bowery's also there. If you want to continue to add depth along the offensive line, I know we've taken two already, but I think we can all agree that the line needed some work. Yeah. I'll keep going. Let's just see. Tori, New York. Now Nick Singleton's there. Running back at Penn State. Yeah, you got Ramadre. You got Travian. Is there a room in that running backs room for him? Yeah, because I would imagine.
Yeah, there you go. All right. So we can put him on the on the board as a potential option as well. You know, the big difference between this and actual actual draft night, you can see, you see things unfold. And here is just your pick. And then it's you don't have time to. Yeah. So you have more time between picks to kind of work out your strategy. The other option I would throw out there is the Dame Tucker, the Western Michigan head rusher. Hey, you've certainly talked up. Yeah. And what are we in the fourth? Where is he at? He is on this board. What does that say, striker? 148? Yeah, 148. Okay. Actually, and Tyrick Saps gone at this point. I actually had Tyrick a little bit above him, but that I still need to go back and rewatch some, some 2025 on him a couple more late. Can you go back
up to the top? We've already taken a tight end. Just looking at this offensive line to depth. Yeah, Barry, you've talked about him. Just Kobe Lane, I actually had a late day two, early day three on him. I'm not a, I'm not a Jacobi Lane for now. Let me finish. What about D tackle? Can we look at the D tackles? Tim Keenan, you like a little bit better than me. They ain't to rant there. My guy's got to go Howard. Nick Barnett's a good player. Yeah, let me look at one thing. It may be this pick may be Tim Keenan. Okay. Yeah, let me. Yeah, let's go Tim Keenan. All right, Tim Keenan.
All righty. Now in the round five, I believe. Yeah, what do we pick one? What is that 169? Okay. Okay. So nothing strikes me as a media, but I will say like Jeremiah writes a good interior off to Lyman, but we have already drafted a tackle in a center. Obviously, there's often to, excuse me, DB help in the form of Julian Neal. That he's Dixon is a good player. I have a Neal ranked a little bit higher than that. Aiden Fisher, the linebackers there. Caleb Elim's or the linebacker at a TC is also available. He's a he's a firecracker. We just got the decent tackling. Tim Keenan. How many started key? Look at him and see how many running backs have gone.
Yes, so many are on the board there. So I had a little run on running backs here. Domine Claiborne at a wake is still there. Jamari Taylor, my guy at the UBA. Kaelan Black and Roman Hambier, both there from Indiana. Desmond Reed, who's probably 165, but a little spark plug for sure, but he's he's more as a receiver than a right back at pit. I still face on to hard runner, but he's he's a little older than the rest of the class. Go back up to the top one more time for the whole list. Sorry. Yeah, let's go Claiborne. Oh, interesting. Okay. Get him another guy with some Jews. All right. All right. You're got Mac. Pat Cougan Serres on the face. We don't need a center. Unfortunately, a really good player. I love Jane Roberts, the guard at Alabama, but again,
they I don't know if you maybe you can take a guard here because it's you can never have enough, but that's just something to keep on the back burner. All right, where are we going now? Let's look at the off-ball linebacker's striker while I got you here. I just want to see where we are because I mean, again, I mentioned Christian Ellison, Robert Spalane. They sound KJ Brit. Oh, let's take Harold Persons. Is Harold there? Yes. Oh, there. Yeah, let's take Harold. I like the versatility. You know, they were in the Kyle Dugger business. They were in the Mopu business. So they like those sorts of players. Again, positionless defenders. So that's that. And now we're in round six. And the name that pops out to me, I can't encourage gives you a little edge rush to this stage of the game, but VJ Payne, my safety out of Kansas state is also there. They lost Jalen Hawkins in free agency. They signed Kevin Byard, who's no longer spring chicken, but a good football player. So my voters for VJ Payne,
but I'll let you know, we can go, we can go with VJ. All right, let's go with VJ, because I'm higher on than most people I started the Payne family. And now, how many more picks do we have, striker? We have three, three more. All right, round six, and then a final and round seven. And I'm going to vote for Red Murdoch, the true off-ball line back out of Buffalo. He had something in saying like 17 force footballs in his career. I'll double check the stats. So I'm not too ridiculous on that, but it's something insane like that. The answer question. Do you think he, if you take, or not saying that I have anybody that I would want to take above him right now, but do you have, do you think, is there a guy that will be available to us 10 picks later? If there's a, so here's the thing. Red and Lorenzo styles, I would imagine one of those guys will be their 10 picks later. So I'm happy to settle on one of
those. There's somebody that you're eyeballing right here. No, no, I'm just, I was just posing the question. Oh, got you. Okay. Yeah. So this is the best available player list. That's right. Chase Roberts is a good possession receiver. He only ran a four six, but he's a big target down the field. Not a, um, we haven't gotten wider skewer yet. Let's look at wider receiver real quick before I get to a far, because I might take Chase Roberts here, because the fans are going to have some real issues with that. Um, and they need, they need speed though. Okay. Well, Xavier Thomas can run, but I don't know if that gets us where we want to go in terms of the way he, let me see, let me double check here. He ran a four two eight, but he's 5 10 190, and I don't think it was particularly aggressive. And it has to catch situations, lacks place, strength, physicality, versus bigger defensive backs. And he's not going to block, but that's not necessarily knock against you as a. So Chase Roberts is a big target. Tyrone Montgomery is a nice mix at both, but he's a division, he played division three ball after leaving nickel state. And he's a little
older, but he's an interesting prospect who can play physically. You can win against man that we saw in practices at senior bowl. That would be my pick here outside of Kobe Young, who has some offield stuff. I think we, I think we wait on Tyrone Montgomery. And I will say, if you scroll down a little bit, Lewis Bond, who got a senior bowl and fight somehow did not get an invite to the combine, he's a good player. And this, he would be at the top of my board if I were picking just a wide receiver here, but we can put a pin in him because he looks to be a little lower. All right, go to, let's, let's make a decision. Go to best player available. You want to go just go red Murdoch here. I would take red here. He's a tackling machine. Go, go red Murdoch here, special teams juice. And my guy, do we get a tie in? We did get jolly. My guy scouted go Howard there.
He's six feet, 285 juiced up interior defensive lineman. Your guy George scums. He has Russia out of Florida. And then Lewis Bond is the, the wide receiver Parker Braille still on the board. I don't think that's going to happen in real life. So we got one two more picks. Yeah. So Dombani Jackson is also a physical outside corner. So my votes are for Lewis Bond, the wide receiver out of BC and the Dombani Jackson, the physical corner who got better as the season went on. He got benched early in the year for Alabama, but came back and bounced back. He transferred over with Kaelin from UW. What was the position where you're just go to wide receiver? Yeah. If Lewis is going, I'm gonna, we're gonna have that works. Lewis is still there. Vinnie Anthony, the second is a good player this spot as well. I think Lewis is a little more consistent. Maybe a little more juice. I don't think he'll be available in that seventh round pink. Is there anybody to fight for in the seventh in the sixth round? Who did I just say, striker? Who's that talking about at the main
big board? Go back to that. Yeah. Dombani Jackson, thank you. Yeah. Yeah. I would go to Dombani here. And then let's see if Lewis is available. Boy, I think the Patriot fans are going to have some thoughts about saving the wide receiver to the very last pick. Yeah. Like I said, I personally think this 31st pick is going to go into Agent Brown move, but that's just me. That's the right. That's the thing. You hit the button striker for Lewis, by the BC. There we go. All right, Patriot fans, give us a grade on this. Why wait for the actual grade from the PFF folks? Tell us what you think. I don't have any issue with how I played out. I know you might want to wide receiver. So if that's what you do, that's how you feel about it, you can grade us on the Agent Brown possibility with the 31st pick when the rails comes after that. All right, I've gotten worse grades in real life. So yeah, past fans, let us know what you think of the comments. Give us a grade.
Or what you would have done differently given the players available as we went through this process here. They always love what you have to say. So I'm interested in reading those comments. And all right, that is it for this edition of the perfect fix. Remember, I'm going to hit all 32 teams. Thanks as always for joining us in the old discussion. Be sure to check back off and subscribe because we'll be going through all 32 teams. We'll catch you guys in the next one. Two teams, one cup.
