New 5ME software targets unplanned downtime, OEE
About this episode
Manufacturers around the world are struggling to combat $50 billion of unplanned downtime per year. And so 5ME wants to give them the data "at their fingertips" needed for continuous improvement programs. The software 5ME is promoting for this is called Freedom. 5ME Executive Vice President Jeff Price gives a scenario of how a company can use Freedom, which he said is appropriate for anyone—"from the shop floor to the top floor." And he explains how companies can use the software with new or legacy equipment. Some customers are increasing their OEE by 20%. And along with that, some are taking days of finished goods out—saving millions of dollars.
