What's up? I'm Cory with the story, and these are your headlines from Durham News Today. Construction kicked off in November 2025 on a 34-acre site in Mevenay for North Carolina's first Bucky's travel center. The spot sits along Trollingwood-Hawfield Road near the Interstate 40 and Interstate 85 interchange. This location will dwarf the nearest Bucky's in Foreign South Carolina by about 75,000 square feet. Meanwhile, the North Carolina Department of Transportation is partnering with the company to add extra access points and handle incoming traffic. A Bucky spokesperson says Dora should open in late 2027. Local reports, however, point to a possible early 2027 debut marking a big win for drivers in the Tar Heel State.
