Navigating the Holiday Season - Part Deux

I think that too often the person who initiated a divorce or separation, is seen to be the villain. But I don’t think that should be the case. It takes courage to get to the point to walk away from a relationship that you have invested in. It takes two people to fall in love in the same way that it takes two people to fall out of love. 

Relationships change and evolve, and it’s in the everyday moments that build a relationship. It’s in the small moments that might seem insignificant, but actually are the building blocks for a strong and healthy relationship like having coffee in the morning a kiss on the forehead having someone to talk to when you get home at night about your day. It’s in the small moments that you Will you learn little bits of information about your partner and build rituals together?

As we go into the festive season and embrace all types of family structures who are navigating this time of year which society puts a lot of pressure on families being together, and the perfection around the holidays that is unrealistic. It’s important to have realistic open and honest conversation with your ex partner and your children about the day or how the festive season will look.
