0:00Today, we're stacking them high to celebrate the breakfast staple that's been fueling humanity since the Stone Age. Welcome to the National Day Spotlight for March 7th. The flapjack, or pancake, is one of the oldest prepared foods in history. With evidence of griddle cakes found in the diet of prehistoric humans, while they've evolved from simple grain paste into the fluffy stacks we love today, the physics of the perfect flapjack remain a culinary art. To reach record breaking heights, chefs have to balance the leavening agents and the temperature perfectly. The correct world record for the tallest stack stands at over 3 feet high. This lumberjack staple earned its reputation in the cold northern forest, where its high calorie energy was vital for a long day of work. On National Flapjack Day, grab your favorite syrup and celebrate the flip that has brought families to the table for thousands of years. You know, good pancakes with real maple syrup, well worth it any day of the week.
1:05And secret ingredient, vanilla. I wasn't going to tell because it's a secret. Oh, it's not a secret anymore. That's true. Add a little dash of vanilla. It makes them so amazing. It really does make your pancakes wonderful. You're also celebrating National Be Heard Day and National Serial Day. I'm Allison Anderson and I'm Marlowe Anderson with National Day Calendar reminding you to celebrate every day.
