NASA's Moon Rocket Rolls Out for Artemis Mission

The space launch system now sits ready for the Artemis second mission, which could lift off as early as April 1st with four astronauts on board, four. A trip around the moon, the 322-foot rocket made its four-mile journey on a massive crawler that's been in use since the Apollo days. High winds delayed the nighttime rollout by several hours, but it wrapped up after 11 hours. Meanwhile, the three American astronauts in one Canadian are already in quarantine in Houston, prepping for their flight. They will loop around the moon in their capsule and splash down back home without landing. Technical troubles pushed this back two months, including hydrogen fuel leaks fixed at the pad and clawed helium lines that require rolling the rocket back to the assembly building at the end of February. This marks the first crewed lunar trip for NASA since Apollo 17 and 1972, paving the way for a two-person moon landing by 20-28.
