Mystikal Pleads Guilty to Rape, Faces Up to 20 Years

The 55-year-old entered the plea on March 17th in Ascension Pairs Court in Louisiana. He now faces up to 20 years in jail, with sentencing set for June. The trouble started on July 30th, 2022, when a woman went to the emergency room and accused him of rape and battery. Tyler originally faced 10 charges, including first-degree rape, which could have meant life in prison. But prosecutors dropped the other 9 charges, like battery and false imprisonment. He's been held without bond ever since the arrest. Police searched his home in Prairieville, and found evidence backing the woman's story, along with illegal drugs. That led to extra drug charges, too. Mystical rose to fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s, with hits like shaky ass. But he's got a long history of legal issues, including a 2002 case where he pleaded guilty to sexual battery and served six years.
