Murder Arrest in North Carolina: Jessie Lee Cherry Charged

The victim was Kenneth Earl Wooten from Pine Tops. Investigators identified and charged Jesse Lee Cherry with first-degree murder on Friday. He's being held without bond at the Edgecomb County Detention Center. The discovery happened Tuesday morning of Davenport Country Lane. Sheriff's deputies quickly launched an investigation that led to Cherry's arrest just a few days later. Sheriff Klee Ackinson praised the teamwork behind the quick breakthrough. He highlighted the dedication of his investigators and strong support from local residents in Penitops and Mackelsfield, whose tips prove crucial.
