It's April 23rd, I'm Cory with the story. This is Kansas News Today, driven by AI. A 35-year-old motorcyclist from Riverside, Missouri died after crashing into a tractor trailer on Wednesday morning. Around 9am, Michael Wolcott was riding his 2024 Kawasaki South on Northwest Maddox Road, north of Northwest 43rd, street, when he tried to pass the truck at high speed. The truck driver, 33-year-old Robert McCormick from Lucas, Iowa, was making a left turn into a business, and Wolcott's bike slammed into the. Brush guard before veering off the road and hitting a utility pole. First responders rushed Wolcott to a nearby hospital, but he didn't make it, while McCormick walked away without a scratch, the Platt County. Sheriff's office took over the probe due to the commercial truck involved. Investigators point to excessive speed and bad passing as the main culprits, reminding us all to watch our moves on these roads. Stay safe out there.
