Mother Faces Attempted Murder Charges After Gas Station Shooting

A 29-year-old woman in midfield, Alabama faces attempted murder charges after a shooting at a gas station on March 10th. Authorities say Katara Andrea Battle left her baby alone in the driver's seat of her car while she argued with a man outside. The dispute quickly turned physical, with both exchanging blows. Battle then went to her vehicle, grabbed the pistol, struck the man in the face with him multiple times, and fired a shot into his chest. The victim collapsed after the shooting, pulling up his shirt to reveal blood on his white t-shirt. Battle showed no remorse, standing over him and yelling without calling for help or checking on her child. She even told the man he was lucky she did not use her glock, and later called someone to admit she shot him because he angered her. Witnesses arrive as she claimed he struck first. Midfield police are investigating, and the victim remains stable on a ventilator after several surgeries. Battle bonded out of jail less than two hours after her arrest.
