Morocco Awarded Africa Cup Title After Senegal Forfeit

0:00On March 18th, the confederation of African football just handed Morocco a 3-0 win in this year's Africa Cup of Nation's Final. Senegal got stripped of the title in a rare ruling after their team forfeited the match held in Rabat back in January. During the game, Senegal's coach and some players walked off the pitch for 15 minutes to protest the penalty awarded to Morocco. They returned after talks with Captain Sadio Mane, the spot cake got saved, and Senegal went on to win an extra time. At first, officials fined both sides more than $1 million and banned some players and staff, but left the score as is. The appeal board later stepped in, citing tournament rules on forfeits for leaving the field. Fans and day cars still celebrated Senegal's second title, with nearly a million people on the streets, while a defender posted defiantly online holding.
