A Montreal jury has convicted Salim to Aebi, a first-degree murder and four counts of attempted murder in a drive-by shooting that killed. 15-year-old Mariam Boundawi, back on February 7, 2021. She was riding in the passenger seat of a car when gunfire hit from another vehicle, leaving her in the wrong place at the wrong time during a clash. Between rival family businesses, meanwhile, to Aebi's co-accused Aymane Buwadi walked free after being acquitted on every charge following a trial that stretched over two months. To Aebi admitted he pulled the trigger, but insisted he only wanted to scare the people in the car, not harm them. Montreal police arrested the men just days apart in June of 2022, wrapping up a case that shocked the community and highlighted the dangers of street feuds.
