The Bulldogs lost in the first round of the SEC tournament in Nashville a couple weeks back, marking the first year under Coach Chris Jans, without end, and NCAA tournament birth. Now, freshmen forward Jamarian Davis Fleming has announced plans to enter the transfer portal. Davis Fleming, a four-star recruit from Canton, Mississippi, was the top prospect in class 5A, his senior year. He led his high school team to a state championship, averaging 16 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocks per game. Mississippi State landed him after a key official visit, beating out schools like LSU, Alabama, and in-state rival, Ole Miss. The six-foot-nine-forward came from a Hoops family. His dad played at Alcorn State, and his brother suited up at Alabama Mississippi State and UAV. He committed on his late grandfather's birthday and quickly earned minutes

Over the season, he averaged 3.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks in just over 20 minutes per game, making him the top minute getter from his recruiting class. With the portal opening April 7th, right after the national title game, Davis Fleming will have three years of eligibility left as teams start, reshaping for next season.
