Miles College Women's Basketball: Deep Run Ahead

The Miles College Women's Basketball team has won their 3rd Strait Conference Championship and earned a spot in the Division 2 in CAA, Tournament. The Golden Bears hold the school's best-ever record at 25 wins and 5 losses. They face number 17 Nova Southeastern at 7.30 pm, Friday in the South region first round at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. With 90 minutes from campus, Coach Pete Asman says this veteran squad is more prepared than ever after early stumbles in past post-season. They beat Lane College last Saturday to claim the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title again. With five seniors leading four strong newcomers, Asman believes they can make a deep run. Guard Samarion Franklin runs the show, averaging 12.2 points and 5.26 assists per game. Simon calls her the team's steady conductor, who thrives under pressure and sets up everyone perfectly.
