More than 140,000 British nationals have signed up for updates from the UK government as evacuation efforts ramp up. The first government charter flight for Muscat in Oman landed safely at Stanssted Airport just before 1am on Friday, marking a key step in, bringing people home. Travelers and airlines are feeling the strain, especially at Manchester Airport, where 14 flights were cancelled today, after 8th the day before. Passengers are urged to check directly with their carriers before heading out, as schedules remain unpredictable. British Airways is adding daily flights from Oman, while Eddie had airways plans to restart a limited schedule through March 19, including routes.

1:01To Heathrow, Manchester and Dublin, officials say over 4,000 people have already returned on commercial flights from the UAE, with seven more charters set for today and additional ones in the works. Efforts continue around the clock to boost capacity and speed up the airlift, hoping as many stranded brits get back safely as possible.
