Dollars in rent from his landlord, Eric T. Goldey. The landlord took him to court over unpaid rent, and Rourke says he stopped paying because the house had serious problems. He pointed to ongoing rodent issues and plumbing repairs that when ignored, despite his repeated requests. Eric told E. News on March 11th that basic maintenance was never handled properly, and he did not make the choice lightly. A court judgment on March 9th went in the landlord's favor by default, since Rourke did not respond in time under California law. This gave Goldey possession of the property and ended Rourke's lease, forcing him out.
