Michigan State Hires Ex-Wisconsin Coach Bortolotti

0:00On March 12, Michigan State is hired Grover Bordeloti as an assistant running backs coach. He joins his former Wisconsin coach, Devon Spalding, who moved to the Spartans earlier this winter. Bordelotti wraps up a five-year playing career with the Badgers and Steps right into coaching. Bordelotti started as a walk-on at Wisconsin, logging mostly special team snaps. He had five carries for 48 yards total, all in one game against Rutgers, back in 2021. After his playing days ended following the 2025 season, he briefly coached running backs for the Badgers under their new position coach. Now at Michigan State, Bordelotti reunites with X-Team A. Jig Cheney, who joined as an assistant defensive line coach. This adds some familiar chemistry to the Spartan staff just before spring practice kicks off. Wisconsin loses Bordelotti after a short stint there, leaving them hunting for another assistant. The running back group stays solid, though, with transfers like Abusama from Iowa State, Brian Jackson, and Nate Palmer, plus freshman Quantavius.
