Nayarit State Dramatic videos show helicopters buzzing overhead while over 500 soldiers and six choppers pinned him down after 19 months of tracking. His crew tried to scatter and distract the troops, but they spotted him trying to play hide and seek in the mud. Flores was El Mencho's right-hand man in the Helisco new generation cartel, and he's even charged with linking up that group with the Chepitos faction, of the Sina Loa cartel. Meanwhile, of North and Tom Olipas, authorities grab Alexander Benavidez Flores, head of the Gulf cartel's Los Metro's faction, knew the Texas border. That sparked at least eight highway blockades around Renosa, but security forces shut it down quick with no injuries. These busts highlight the ongoing chaos since El Mencho got taken out in February, with shootouts and over 70 deaths in the aftermath.
Flores is on the U.S. wanted list for extradition, per officials. As U.S. pressure mounts on Mexico to smash these gangs, President Shindbaum's holding firm against drone strikes or American boots on the ground, keeping the fight in the house for now.
