Mets Add Lovelady, Place Hagenman on IL

The New York Met's grabbed left-handed reliever Richard Love Lady off waivers from the Washington Nationals on Saturday. This marks the fourth time they've added him in the past nine months. At the same time, they place right-handed Justin Haggerman on the 60-day injured list due to a rib fracture from last season. That injury will sideline him for the first two months of the year. First Lady first landed with the Met's in June after leaving a minor league deal with the Minnesota twins. He bounced on and off the roster last year, getting designated for assignment a few times, but choosing to resign when New York each time. In the majors with the Met's, he threw ten innings over eight outings with a 6.30 ERA. He fared much better in triple A Syracuse, posting a 208 ERA in 17 and a third innings. 1:01ERA. Meanwhile, Haggerman made his MLB debut with the Met's last year after being drafted in the 23rd round by the Los Angeles Dodgers back in 2018. In nine games, including one start, he had a 4-5-6 ERA over 23 and 2-3 innings with 23 strikeouts and just two walks. The 30-year-old love lady debuted with the Kansas City Royals in 2019 and has a career 5.35 ERA across 118 relief, appearances. His best stretch came in 2022 when he managed a 348 ERA in 20 and 2-3rds innings.
