Mental Health Awareness Month: A Call for Help Before it's Too Late

About this episode

In America alone, 7.7 million young people will face mental health disorders this year, and sadly, over 11% of them may end up taking their own lives. It's a serious problem that we need to address. Growing up in West Africa, my family and I didn't understand mental health. But when my sister was just 10 years old, she started experiencing mental health issues. It was really hard to see her hurting herself and shutting everyone out. We didn't know how to help her. Thankfully, a therapist came into our lives and shed light on her situation. They showed her ways to cope and saved her from hurting herself even more. That's why I care so much about this topic. Just imagine if we could help all those 7.7 million young people suffering from mental health issues before it gets so bad that they feel like they have no other choice but to end their lives. Together, let's bring awareness to mental health, support those who are struggling, and make sure nobody feels alone in their battle. We can make a difference and save lives.
