On today's episode, we're going to talk more about Lori Vallow and Chad Debel and continue to add some context to the story as we wait for the jury selection to end and the trial to kick off in earnest. And to do that, we have an article today from KSLTV.com. Headline, radicalized religion. When did Lori Vallow Debel's beliefs become dangerous? This article was authored by Kiera Faramund and Mike Hedrick. From missionary and one-time primary president to facing first-degree murder charges in the deaths of two children, Lori Vallow Debel and Chad Debel went from seemingly mainstream members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to following and practicing beliefs. Far outside, the official teachings and doctrine. I would say that's accurate.

3:31Most Mormon people out here, I'm sure, aren't running around calling their children zombies or evil spirits or anything else like that. Religious scholars say the road to radicalized religion often starts small. Sometimes there are formal offshoots of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. People who formally rescend their membership and create a new group, create a new church, and then other times it's just people who develop their own ideas that actually might be out of sync with the mainstream church, said Patrick Mason, director of Utah State University's Religious Studies Program. Sometimes they take formal structure and sometimes it's a more informal group of people, oftentimes on social media. I think that's the nice way of saying that a bunch of lunatics get together and come up with their own brand of fairy tales. In interviews with police, friends said Vallow Debel's

4:31long-held Latter-day Saint Beliefs changed dramatically after meeting Debel and that's how it usually works. If you're going to get radicalized, whether it be Islam or, in this instance, this form of the LDS Church, whatever it is, you're going to find somebody who is going to put you on that path of radicalization, whether it's in person or online or just literature, you're going to come into contact with something that puts you on that path. And a lot of times the people who get radicalized are people who are vulnerable, whether it's emotionally or mentally whatever, those are the people that are the easiest to bring under the umbrella of radicalization. And in fact, that's how the Taliban was formed after the Russian invasion, the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, all of those refugees poured into Pakistan and they were preyed upon by the Mullahs and clerics who radicalized these kids and turned them into the Taliban. And you see the same thing here,

5:32but on a more interpersonal level between Debel and Laurie Vallow. She was a really good mom. She was very helpful to everyone. We served on our church together and we were great friends. I trusted her with my children. April Raymond told an investigator with the Chandler Police Department in Arizona. Raymond knew Vallow Debel when she and her fourth husband, Charles Vallow lived in Hawaii between 2014 and 2016. Raymond said Vallow Debel was different when she returned to Hawaii years later. And it doesn't take years to be radicalized. It only takes a little while, especially if you believe whatever the Charlotteson is selling. She made comments about Charles already being dead and that there was a demon living inside of him. I just thought she just snapped. I didn't know what was going on, but she was a completely different person. And the second anyone starts talking about possession

6:33or the devil or any of that stuff, I just automatically assume that you're a cookiest shit. And that goes double for people that you already know. Like if we've had a previous relationship and I don't see you for a little while and you show up and you're talking in all this John of God type shit, I'm gonna have some questions, bro, especially if it's bizarre talking about people are being possessed and stuff like that. Now if somebody has a spiritual awakening, that's a little different, right? They don't show up at your house talking about this one's dead already with a demon living inside of them. So there's obviously a difference between a real spiritual awakening and the morbid nonsense that these sick bastards were up to. Living on the edge of heaven, Debel claimed two near death experiences in his late teens and early 20s, left him with a special connection to the spirit world. No, it just made you stupid obviously. One of my favorite sayings is, what did you fall and hit your head? And when we're talking about Chad Dumbbell, that's obviously the case.

7:35As an author, he wrote about his experiences, including visions of the future. Yeah, that happened to me one time too, on an acid trip at a place called the candy factory in Las Vegas. Many of Debel's fiction works focus on end of times, Dumb's Day, apocalyptic stories, and he was a frequent guest at Preparedness Conferences and on Prepper Podcast figures. It was that one of those conferences that Laurie first met Chad, like Preparedness Conferences really? What do you guys go and talk about your freeze-dried food? Oh, I built the moat around my homestead. I mean, what's there to even talk about that you can't talk about online? You have to have a whole last conference for Preparedness? All right, I guess, maybe I'm missing out. It was that one of those conferences that Laurie first met Chad. Imagine your wife coming up to you and saying, hey, babe, I'm heading out to the Dumb's Day conference. I'll be back in a few days. Your boy would have some questions about the itinerary

8:35and what's going on at the Dumb's Day conference. There is a recognition that, okay, some of this stuff may not play very well in church on Sundays, you know, Mason said. There's a recognition that it sounds different or it's distinct from kind of mainstream Mormonism. And so that's why some of these other outlets, whether it be online or whether it be through in-person gatherings, conferences that people have, oftentimes these ideas play out in those other venues. And I'm certainly no expert on the Mormon religion, but I think it's safe to say that that wouldn't be the kind of conversation that would be welcomed by the congregation on a Sunday. Hey, Evelyn, you hear about Al? He's possessed by a spirit and he's a level four whatever the hell you call it. I'm pretty sure Becky with the good hair from Ward five isn't down with that kind of conversation. Vallow Debel and Debel found friends and followers who had like-minded beliefs.

9:36They studied scripture together and attended letter day, say temples together. The people in these different groups, they feel like they have additional knowledge, Mason said, they sort of take the church as a baseline, but say, okay, the church is kind of doing a lowest common denominator thing, but we have special knowledge or we have access to new information that God has given to use or to the way that we interpret scripture. And that gives us, you know, kind of a different identity, even if we can go to church with everybody else, like they're part of this like little cabal, right? The We See Demons, instead of human beings, cabal, sounds like a fantastic group. Demons, zombies and dark spirits. Court documents and interviews with Vallow Debel's friends have revealed many of her radical religious beliefs that span from spiritual to mystical. She believes she has the patriarchal power, which was higher than the Melchizedic power, longtime friend Melanie Gibbs said

10:39in an interview with police. An indication that Vallow Debel had shifted her beliefs from the doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of letter day saints, when it pertained to priesthood powers, which in the church are only available to male members of the faith. Chad would help groom her into these beliefs and ideas, give continued, he would help her believe more and more, like you're the most powerful woman in the world. Other friends told police about strange conversations they had with Vallow Debel, in which she talked about demons and zombies taken over the bodies of her family members. Like the second a family member of mine or a friend makes a comment to me like that, and they're serious and they have conviction behind it. I'm staging an intervention right away. Forget about it. And if you're with some crazy as dude, being that dude or about to have a conversation off to the side and away from everybody else. She had made comments about Charles already being dead

11:40and that there was a demon living inside of him, Raymond told police. She had kind of some wild ideas about the idea of her husband being possessed. A friend Christina Adwood said in an interview with police. And she was concerned that Tiley also had these dark spirits that were trying to control her. Imagine looking at your daughter and thinking that all because this Shrek look in MF her told you that this is the way it is and fed you this BS doctrine. Serena Sharp told police that Vallow Debel had told her, Satan was ramping up his powers and that evil is so pervasive in the world and that it was her job. The second you start talking about your kids have evil spirits in them and the way to get rid of those evil spirits is to purge your children. I would say it's dangerous at that point. In a worldwide church of 17 million members, it would be impossible for a Latter-day Saints leadership to monitor the private beliefs of individuals and schismatic groups are not unique to the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as they are common in all major religions, 100%. Organized religions scares me a lot of the time folks. I'm not a big fan. Now I don't have a problem with spirituality, but organized religions really turn me off.

15:48In the United States of America, you know we allow for freedom of speech. We allow for people to have different ideas and that's not a problem. But I think with Chattanoori at least what it appears or what they're accused of is when those things turn into when those ideas turn into the idea that they need to take out other people when they need to commit violence against other people, that's when those ideas really become dangerous. Mason said, I would think it's even before that, like I said a second ago. Once you start thinking this sort of shit, it's time to go get help. Before his death in 2020, Charles Valo called police, begging for them to intervene and get his wife help for her mental health. In later release body cam footage, he can be seen telling an officer that Lori had threatened to kill him because she believed his body had been taken over by someone else and the body camera footage is just unbelievable. When you see this poor man telling the police this

16:49and then the police sitting down with Lori Valo and completely buying into her BS, it was just unbelievable to watch that unfold. She says I'm Nick Schneider. I've taken over Charles' body and Charles has been killed and I'm going to kill you. You're going to be murdered today or tomorrow. I can do it with my priesthood powers. He told police, what would you do if somebody told you that? I'd be swooping up my kids and I'd be getting out of Dodge ASAP. Charles expressed concern over the safety of JJ entirely at the time. Lori did meet with officers and have a mental health exam in January of 2019 and she was medically cleared. Six months later, Lori's brother Alex Cox shot and killed Charles inside Lori's Chandler Arizona home in what he said was self-defense. Police later ruled the death of homicide but before any charges could be filed, Cox had died from an apparent heart attack.

17:49I don't buy that for a minute and apparent heart attack, yeah right. Pretty convenient that old Coxy boy happens to have his ticker go out on him right when the hammer of justice is about to come down. Lori was indicted on charges of conspiracy to commit murder in Charles death. Those charges are on hold while the case in Idaho plays out. Radical versus real. The type of belief that daybell was preaching to a small group, you know, that people can become zombies because their spirits could go dark and therefore they needed to be killed so that they could cast out the zombies. Those things are nothing that would be recognizable to mainstream Latter-day Saints today, said Barbara Jones Brown, director of signature books publishing or the belief of reincarnation. He thought that all people have up to nine lives on this earth. Oh, that's original. I thought that was for cats. Those kinds of things are really just so far out of line with mainstream, Latter-day Saint belief.

18:51With so many different portrayals in the media in recent years and the upcoming trial of Valo Debel, there is sure to be a significant misunderstanding over what is a real teaching of the church and what is a radical extreme belief. Well, I don't know about that. I think most people understand that the vast majority of members of the church of Latter-day Saints aren't running around calling their kids demons in shit just like the vast majority of people who are Muslim are in terrorists. I think most people understand that, but of course there are crazy people out there that can flate everything. Mason told KSL, this has been a problem for the Latter-day Saints faith since the beginning, whether in the media or another forum, people are attracted to the more sensational aspects, whether it be violence, whether it be sex scandals, whether it be polygamy and other kinds of things. And you know, a lot of these practices are outgrows of and are related to,

19:52but actually very different from the way the most Latter-day Saints live and believe in their religion. He said one of the challenges on a national scale is that a large percentage of Americans have never even met a member of the church. Well, here in Las Vegas, I grew up with a bunch of people who were in the Mormon church and besides a few customs that don't line up with the things I grew up with, they weren't weird at all or into anything like this. I could tell you that much for sure. A 2022 national survey found nearly half of Americans have no friends or family members who are Latter-day Saints. That number is even higher, the further you get away from the Mountain West region. So yeah, if you don't live out West or Las Vegas, you know, Nevada area, Utah, that certainly makes sense. I know before I moved to Nevada from New York, I had no idea what a Mormon person was until they showed up at my door, knocking in their little outfit. I looked at my mom. I was like, what's this guy doing at the door? And why is he talking about something that's not Catholicism?

20:55You know, I was just a little kid. I didn't know any better. But I could see how, you know, some people out there who live in different parts of the country might have never even met somebody who is Mormon. Their knowledge and their understanding of the religion is pretty shallow, Mason said. What they know about the religion is what they see on TV. Well, that's pretty much what everybody knows about every religion that isn't theirs. So I think the worry here that there's going to be some blowback against the Mormon church is a bit misplaced. I don't see that happening. I think people understand that we're talking about some crazy people here and not a whole religion. He pointed out that this is also a problem, not unique to one faith. A lot of people don't know all that much about Islam or don't know very many Muslims. And so they see in the news, whether it be about Al-Qaeda or some other violent Muslim extremist, even if they know intellectually that that's a fringe of the group that doesn't represent the whole, there is some part of them that says,

21:55well, there must be something about that religion that promotes this kind of extremism. It's important, Mason said, for all viewers of the Valo Debel trial to recognize their own lack of understanding or lack of knowledge. So as to not make judgments about the entire Latter-day Saint faith based on what's presented in the courtroom, well, isn't Mason doing the same thing right there? Implying that people are going to do that? See, I have a different outlook. I don't think people are gonna look at what's going on here and cast blame on the whole entire church of Latter-day Saints. I think people's rage is gonna be pointed exactly where it should be pointed and that's at Lori Debel and Chad Debel. For a casual listener, a casual viewer who doesn't know that much or doesn't have that much context, it's easy for them to conflate the extreme with the majority of people who live good, decent lives. Well, again, I doubt that's going to happen, but I thought the article was interesting

22:56from the standpoint of the radicalization as far as just being religious because there's a whole element of that that came into play here with Chad Debel being a key factor. And zombies have to be killed. Some of those would be zombies, law enforcement say, were her children that she is alleged to have killed. Her adopted son Joshua Jackson, J.J. Vallo,

28:07seven and her biological daughter, Tiley Ashlyn Ryan, 17. The murders are believed to have occurred sometime in September of 2019. Both children went missing on different dates that same month. The defendant and her current husband Chad Daybell are also charged with the October 2019 murder of Tammy Daybell, 49. During a recent episode of Sidebar, glad to discuss several interesting facts about Lori Vallo's life before and after she was arrested and charged with the murder of her children and Chad Daybell's first wife. So it's always interesting to get a little bit of a look behind the curtain, right? What their life was like and what might have led somebody to the point where they think it's a good idea to murder their children. She once competed on Wheel of Fortune and one. Vallo told her sister that she received a message from God that she needed to appear on the long running game show co-hosted by Pat SayJack and Vanna White, glad said.

29:10She auditioned for the show and made it on the author told Sidebar, while on the show around 2001 or 2002, she was bantering with SayJack and mentioned her then husband, Jo Ryan, who she was divorcing. She also mentioned her two children at the time, Tiley Ashlyn Ryan and Colby Ryan. She ended up winning $17,500. I'm pretty sure that God never told her to go on the Wheel of Fortune. And she told everybody it was a gift from God, glad said. I mean, I'm not a religious person or anything, but I would think that God has other things to do than tell Lori Vallo that she should be going on to Wheel of Fortune. I would think that God's a pretty busy guy, right? I mean, a lot of stuff going on, you would think. She also competed in the Miss Texas Pageant and lost. While married to business analyst, Jo Ryan, Tiley Ryan's biological father, the defendant won the Miss Hayes County Pageant in Texas in 2004.

30:11She would go on to compete in the Miss Texas Pageant and made it through to the semi-final round of 15 contestants. And you see, it's already apparent that Lori Vallo thinks that she's talking to God. So she'd be way more susceptible to somebody showing up and saying, hey, look, I'm a prophet, I'm this, I'm that. And God has sent me. Imagine if you're not a religious person and somebody tries that on you. The defendant, then 30, took part in the swimsuit portion and formal gown portion. Lateral call that her answer during the interview portion of the show was very interesting. And for me, these sorts of articles are very enlightening because it gives us a look behind the curtain into their personal life, not just what we see in the media, in the aftermath of them being called a criminal. Being a good mom is very important to me and a good wife and a good worker. She sent a response to a question about what made her tick

31:12and being all of those things together is not easy. So basically a ticking time bomb. Talk about foreshadowing, huh? She's telling the whole world here on Wheel of Fortune that she's a ticking time bomb and then fast forward to when the murders happened. And well, she wasn't lying, was she? She believed her slain daughter was her dead sister reincarnated. Lori Vallo has long believed that she was in contact with the spirits from behind the veil. Glad told Sidebar, the accused child killer believed that her late sister, Stacey Lynn Cox-Cope, who died at 31 from diabetes-related complications in 1998, often spoke to her at night. On top of that, the author said Vallo firmly believed that her daughter, Tiley Ryan, was actually the reincarnation of her dead sister. I mean, we're obviously dealing with somebody here who can be molded, who can be led a certain direction.

32:13Anyone who's believing this sort of thing is certainly in jeopardy of falling under the spell of some kind of charlatan like Chad Debel, right? And as I've said before, she has already harbored all of this weird shit and Debel was just a catalyst to bring that other face out of her. After Cope died, Vallo assumed something like the role of a second mother to her daughter, Melanie Polowski, Nibudro, Glad said, Melanie Polowski is among a lengthy list of family members and other individuals who could be called as a witness by the prosecution as the trial moves on to testimony next week. While spending much time with her niece after Cope's death, Vallo was convinced that she was in constant contact with Stacey. Now, what would you do if this was your relative and they were talking all sorts of reckless like this? I mean, what do you do in a situation like this? I don't have the answers. I mean, I guess you could try and contact somebody

33:13to get them put into a mental institution or something, but when Charles Vallo tried to do that, he was basically laughed at by the police. So I don't even know what you would do in a situation like this besides extricate yourself from it and not be around people who are espousing this sort of wild nonsense. Melanie Polowski doesn't believe her aunt helped the razor after the tragedy, but told East Idaho News Director Nate Eaton that Lori Vallo would often take her out and go do fun things and that her aunts and uncles were so important in my life. She danced a religious music in front of a mirror late at night. Well, is that how she called the spirits? What did she have to do a special dance? Maybe do the hokey-poky and turn herself around so that the spirit of insert person shows up to have a conversation with her? Vallo has for years been fond of dancing, glad told sidebar. This goes back a long way. The author told Lawn Crimes a net levy.

34:15She even had her third husband Charles Vallo give her a special room. He even built a special room with a full-length mirror and she would turn on the music late at night and dance in front of it. And this is something she did constantly, you know, wherever she lived. She always admirers up and would dance. How come in my mind right now? I'm envisioning, which is dancing around the big pot of which is brew? That's what I'm envisioning here with Lori Vallo Debel or maybe she was just pulling the buffalo bill. Glad to remind that Vallo's dancing is perhaps how she communicates with God and likely ongoing. The author said the inmates would say that she still danced late at night in her cell. She had a bedroom closet portal where her husband visited her. Oh, okay, that's nice, a little portal in your bedroom closet. Yeah, you're not batshit insane. Lori Vallo told her best friend Melanie Gibb. She could visit with her current husband, Chad Debel, through a bedroom closet portal late at night.

35:18What she really means is she'd go into the closet and FaceTime her dude. Debel is also accused of the three triple murder charges as wife faces, but will be tried separately. Wherever Chad was, he would come and visit and then they had special portal in her bedroom closet. Glad said, although he didn't come physically. He came spiritually and they would be able to talk and pray together and commune, you know, and make their plans, you know, for the end of the world and how they were going to, you know, lead the 144,000 chosen people to the next life. Well, folks, I think that we can all rest assured that Chad Debel and Lori Vallo are going to shepherd us into the next portion of life. When Charles Vallo filed for divorce, he noted a distinct change in Lori Vallo's worldview, writing in one filing that is a strange wife, believe she was a goddess signed to carry out the work of 144,000 at Christ's Second Coming in July of 2020.

36:21Gibb, another potential witness for the prosecution, already testified extensively in the case during Chad Debel's preliminary hearing and years ago, surreptitiously recorded a phone call with a couple after they asked her to lie about the whereabouts of the children. She later turned that recording over to the police, while that's a good thing. Imagine telling the police that your kids are with this lady, yeah, because Barney Fife over here and his partner Huggie Bear, they're not going to check in on those kids down in Arizona. They're just going to take your word for it. She befriended other inmates and they made her make up. Aw, isn't that nice? Just like Lan Maxwell, huh? Welcome to the fold. Lori was a total narcissist, glad told sidebar. She really cared about her appearance and she liked to look her best in court. The author said the defendant befriended a collection of long time inmates when she was first arrested, who helped her develop a prison commissary-based makeup suite and routine.

37:23They taught her how to make, you know, bright red lipstick with Jolly Rancher Candy, glad said, and you can see in the videos of her court appearance this garish red lipstick that she had. And she also did eyeliner from pencils, and this was like surviving behind bars for Lori to look her best, and you know, when the cameras were on her. No wonder she looked like Ronald McDonald with that goofy as red lipstick. Cameras are famously not being allowed in court during the Lori Valo trial. Glad suggested that perhaps, Judge Stephen Boyce declined to allow a live stream because the accused murderists might play up to it and act like she was at a Hollywood opening. Imagine on trial for the murder of your two children and you're worried about where in Jolly Rancher lipstick and the rest of this bullshit. She had numerous home salons as a hairdresser. Right from the beginning, she was a hairdresser. Glad told Sidebar, she worked in salons in Texas, Arizona, and whatever.

38:23Aside from the room of mirrors, Charles Valo gave his wife, a home salon, the author said, as did her previous husband, Joe Ryan. So she would have her clients over, cut their hair, glad went on, she'd cut relations hair, and whatever. And that's what she liked to do. And supposedly she was very good at it, you know? According to the author, working in salons as a beautician, focused on cutting hair was the only job he could ever find any records of Lori Valo having held before she met the men that would keep her. And we also heard from detective Armaceo that Chad Daybell and the lying that Chad Daybell and Alex Cox were engaging in when he came there asking questions raised a bunch of red flags. Those red flags ended up leading to a search warrant. He went to a judge and said, look, these guys are obviously lying. They're obviously being deceitful and we have to find where these kids are. So a judge taking a look at what was going on, granted them a warrant on probable

42:27cause because of the behavior of Chad Daybell and Alex Cox when they were questioned by these police officers. Did they really think that their story was going to hold up when a seasoned interrogator started digging into it? I mean, look, I'm not an inspector of any sort, okay? But if you were trying to tell me that story, I wouldn't believe one second of it. You have no idea who Laurie Valow is. There is demonstrable proof that that's a lie. And he's out here talking this kind of nonsense out of the side of his neck, thinking he's going to what? Get off. That's never going to happen. Why don't you and Laurie Valow use one of your teleportation spells and boogie out? Oh, that's right. You don't have any powers. You're not a prophet. You're just a dumb jackass who prays upon vulnerable people and officer Armaceo saw through your bullshit right away. So today we have an article from people talking a little bit more about detective

43:28Armaceo's testimony and some of the red flags that were raised when he went to do that wellness check. Headline Chad Daybell told cops he hardly knew Laurie Valow Daybell even though they were married. This article was authored by Christine Pelisek and Greg Hanlon. And this article was published by People magazine. A detective for police in Rexburg, Idaho testified Tuesday that when he first approached Chad Daybell in 2019 and asked him about Laurie Valow Daybell, Chad said he hardly knew Laurie despite the fact that they'd been married for two weeks. Did Chad Daybell really think that the police didn't know all of this already? They just showed up there blind and ignorant. They already knew the deal. Detective Ray Armaceo took the stand Tuesday and recounted when he came to Laurie's home to conduct a welfare check on Laurie's son, JJ Valow, then seven who had been reported missing by his grandparents. There were numerous things about the day that aroused his

44:33suspicions. Armaceo said, and when you have a seasoned cop, a seasoned detective, a lot of them have gut feelings. And when they walk into a certain situation like this and people aren't being truthful with them, it's going to raise a whole bunch of red flags. When Armaceo asked Laurie's brother Alex Cox, where JJ was, Cox got a blank look on his face, a frightened look, Armaceo testified. And yeah, they knew the jig was up. I said this from the jump that once the cop showed up at this apartment, they knew that the party was over. And it's just a big coincidence, that Alex Cox happens to die right after all of this gets set in motion, just a big coincidence. At that point, said Armaceo, both Chad and Cox looked at each other. It raised some red flags, the way they acted with that question. Cox then told Armaceo that JJ was in Louisiana with Woodcock. And anytime you have people who are changing their story around, as quickly as these

45:35people were changing their stories, you know something is wrong. The question is at that point, what exactly is wrong and where are these kids? I said that it wasn't likely because Kay called in for the welfare check. Cox and Chad both looked at each other again. Armaceo said they really thought they were going to get away with this. They truly thought that nobody was going to look for these kids. When Armaceo asked Chad for Laurie's number, Chad said he didn't have it. I assumed he was lying because they were closed. Armaceo testified again. It's not like these officers had no idea who they were looking at or who they were looking for. Remember, they were asked to perform surveillance on Laurie and Chad as well. So they had information. They had intelligence. And they weren't coming into this blind and not knowing what they were doing. They knew exactly who they were looking for and where they were looking for them. The problem was those kids weren't there. And when Armaceo asked Chad about his relationship with Laurie, he said that he hardly knew her.

46:38Armaceo testified adding that he was suspicious because authorities knew that Laurie and Chad had been married two weeks prior to contact. Subsequently, Armaceo, who testified that his visit to Laurie's house allegedly showed deception and lies, got a search warrant for the homes of Laurie, her niece Melanie Boudreau and Cox. And if you go to the judge and you say to the judge, look, the people here are obviously being deceptive. They're lying. And I think that there is probable cause for us to go and toss their house more times than not. A judge is going to give you that probable cause warrant, especially if there's another district, another police department that is involved in asking you to put surveillance on these people, etc, etc. So it wasn't like they didn't have a bunch of evidence to present to a judge. They most certainly did. And when the judge saw all of the evidence that they presented, it was a no-brainer to give them that warrant. At that time, we felt there was something more going on with the whereabouts of JJ. And we weren't

47:43getting any cooperation from Chad or Alex Cox, said Armaceo, who later testified about making the grim discovery of the remains of JJ and Laurie's daughter, Tiley Ryan, buried on Chad Daybell's property in 2020. So once they were deceitful with detective Armaceo and once his suspicions were aroused, it was pretty much over for Laurie Valow, Chad Daybell and Alex Cox. And we know that Alex Cox, he ended up dying. According to the corner, he died of natural causes. But again, I think that's a bit too convenient here, especially with all of the other stuff we've talked about. I'm not going to beat that dead horse again here, but the Narcan in the system and the rest of it, I think that that deserves a deeper look. And maybe Alex Cox's body needs to be exhumed and another autopsy needs to be done on Alex Cox. Because I think it's quite the coincidence that not only one of the key players in this whole entire sorted ordeal happens to die right after the wall start closing in,

48:48but he happens to die and it sure is convenient for Laurie Daybell and Chad Daybell, isn't it? Laurie is on trial accused of the murders of her two children and conspiracy to commit first degree murder in the death of Chad's first wife, Tammy Daybell. Laurie has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Chad, who is Laurie's fifth husband, is also charged, but will have a separate trial. He has also pleaded not guilty to all charges. And it's a benefit for Chad Daybell to be able to sit on the sidelines right now and see what the government has against Laurie Valo. You notice that his lawyer prior is in there every single day watching the proceedings. That's because they're looking to build their defense around what they see the prosecution has here. JJ and Tyler were reported missing after JJ's grandparents, Kay and Larry Woodcock called authorities and Rexburg Idaho in November of 2019 and learned that JJ and Tyler, who was last seen alive at age 16,

49:49hadn't been seen since September of that year. In June 2020, the remains of JJ and Tyler were found buried on a property belonging to Chad by Erma Sio and others. And again, how did those bodies get there? Chad Daybell? There is no reason under the sun that those children should have been buried on his property if he had nothing to do with it, right? Nobody did it without his knowledge. He knew exactly what was going on on that property. In fact, he was the ringleader. Remember, this is the cult leader, right? This is the big head, aren't you? The man with the prophecies. The guy that's going to lead 144,000 people and shepherd them through the end times. Meanwhile, he has no idea who buried these bodies on his property, huh? Okay, sure. We're buying all of that. What was left of Tyler was found. Charter remains a massive bone and tissues. That was what was left of this beautiful young woman. Fremont County prosecuting attorney Lindsey Blake said on Monday during opening

50:49statements. Her DNA was discovered on a pickaxe and shovel later found in daybell shed. Again, how did that stuff get there? Chad Daybell? Now, I have no doubt. Once it's time for Chad Daybell's trial, he's going to be pointing fingers all over the place. It wasn't me. It was Alex Cox. It was Green Men from Neptune. Anybody but me. JJ was last seen September 23, 2019. And the last known image of Tyler was taken September 8, 2019, while she was on a day trip to Yellowstone National Park with her mother, brother, and Laurie's brother, Cox, according to a court filing. On December 12, 2019, Cox died from a heart attack at age 51. Laurie has also been indicted in Arizona on one count of conspiracy to commit first degree murder in connection with the death of her fourth husband, Charles Vallow, who was shot to death in 2019. Laurie and Cox said the shooting was in self-defense and Laurie

51:54has pleaded not guilty. Imagine being involved in all of these people who are just dropping dead around you and then acting like you have nothing to do with it ever? In March, a judge ruled that Laurie will not face the death penalty in her current murder trial. She faces life in prison, if convicted. Laurie's trial in Idaho is ongoing. And when we look back on all of this, after the trial is over and all is said and done, Detective Hermesio is going to come out as one of the quote-on-quote heroes in this story. This guy showed up, saw that daybell and Alex Cox were obviously lying, went to the judge, got the warrant, and got everything put in motion for where we are today.
