Hey, it's Corey with Derm news today, your city, your news every day. Roy McAroy has pulled out of the Arnold Palmer Invitational after suffering muscle spasms in his lower back. The top golfer felt a twinge while warming up in the gym on March 7th, and it got worse as he hit balls on the range. He shared this in a statement, saying he could not continue. McAroy explained he was excited to play, but chose to withdraw to avoid bigger problems. As the ranting masters champion, he has the player's tournament next week, and needs to defend his title starting April 9th. Playing through the pain just was not worth the risk. This March's only the third time in his long career that the Grand Slam winner has dropped out of an event. His last withdrawal came in the second round of the 2013 Honda Classic. Before that, he left the net bank golf challenge in 2009 due to flu and food poisoning. Fans and fellow players hate to see him sideline like this, especially with major events ahead, McAroy remains upbeat, wishing the tournament a strong finish and planning
to return next year. His team is now focusing on recovery so he can gear up for those key competitions. McAroy's smart call could keep him sharp for the rest of the season.
