TV-style booth. In return, folks get a $15 gift card, good for items like the new Big Arch burger or a quarter-pounder meal. The promotion partners with Love Island star O'Londria Carthain, who shares how her family's McDonald's roots, taught her key skills like multitasking, and responsibility from her early babysitting days. McDonald's highlights how these entry-level experiences build lifelong abilities, no matter the job. One in eight Americans has worked at a McDonald's at some point, a stat the company celebrates every January 8th on its one-in-a-day. Owners and former crew members say these roles build confidence, problem-solving, and adaptability that carry into bigger careers. The chain has long created opportunities, starting with Brothers Dick and Mac McDonald in 1940, later joined by Ray Crock.
