McDonald's Eyes Lisburn Leisure Park for First Restaurant

They're reworking the old Eddie Rockets in Spoon Street spots next to the Omniplex Cinema. Ebony developments run by Joe and Elizabeth Tommelty put in the application. The blue prints from Mike Architects match McDonald's standard black and brown look perfectly, complete with a McDelivery zone. No official name drop yet, but it's clear who's coming. Locals have been waiting since McDonald's hit Northern Ireland back in 1991. They've got 35 spots across the North now, through franchises, including a busy one at Sprucefield since 1993. That site's success probably kept them out of Lisburn City limits so far, even with a new one in Derricky in 2020.
