Maya Rudolph Joins Broadway's 'Oh, Mary'

She steps into the role of Mary Todd Lincoln starting Tuesday, April 28th, for a limited eight-week run through June 20th. Rudolph has praised the show's creator and original star, Cole Eskola, calling it the funniest play she's ever seen. At 53, the six-time Emmy winner is thrilled to take on the part of a miserable, suffocated, alcoholic woman dreaming of Cabaret's stardom. The actress first gained fame on Saturday Night Live over seven seasons with her impressions and musical bits. She's since starred in films like Bridesmaids and Sisters, voice characters on Big Mouth, and currently leaves the Apple TV Plus series, Lute. She follows a lineup of stars in the role, including Jan Krakowski, Titus' Burgess, Betty Gilpin, and Jinx Monsoon. John Cameron Mitchell holds it now, through April 26th.
