Matthew's Snowdon Challenge for Children's Hospital

0:00On March 13th, Matthew chatting from Staffordshire is pushing through brutal weather on his massive challenge to climb Snowden 50 times in 10 days. He's raising cash for Birmingham Children's Hospital, where his young son got lifesaving care after a leukemia diagnosis back in 2000, 16. The goal kicked off last Friday, but fierce winds and snow forced him to adjust his target to at least 41 summits. By Thursday afternoon, he'd notched his 27th climb, battling 40 mile per hour gusts, and even a nasty ankle tweak from a fall into a hole. On day one, each round feels like an ultra marathon, with no downtime to recover, leaving him battered and sore from constantly bracing against the storm. Chatting's drive comes straight from the heart. His boy beat the disease and went into remission by 2019, but plenty of kids at the verses. Hospital aren't so lucky. He keeps telling himself he can manage the pain by just putting one foot ahead of the other, all for those little ones who can't.

1:00So far, supporters have chipped in more than 3,400 pounds on his page. His wife Lucy calls his effort, brilliant, despite the rough conditions. With days left to go, Chatting's grit shows no signs of fading as he eyes their revised sum-account.
