Massive Fire at Viva Oil Refinery in Corio

Firefighters are still fighting a massive blaze at the Viva oil refinery in Coryo, just outside Jalong. The fire broke out late last night and it's been raging out of control into Thursday morning. This site's one of only two refineries left in Australia, so it's a big deal for fuel production down under. Crews have been on the scene all night, trying to get the upper hand. In south of the refinery got warnings to stay indoors and avoid the thick smoke drifting their way. Authorities are keeping a close eye to make sure it doesn't spread further. Jalong's mayor, Stretch Contelgy, called it unprecedented on the radio around 6am. He talked to refinery management and nobody there remembers anything this huge. Still, early reports suggest it's starting to come under control. No injuries reported so far, which is a relief, and the refinery says fuel supplies aren't hit right now. Emergency teams are pushing hard to contain it fully.
