We're going to have a lot today and of course, later on the squad show tonight and tomorrow morning as well. But on today's show, we're going to be diving into a Max Crosby update being revealed in the Ravens being named in that update. So we'll talk about that, what it could potentially mean and then in the second part of the show. The more Jackson, the combine is over, but Lamar got some really cool praise from some elite wide receiver prospects that I haven't had a chance to talk about yet. So I want to dive into that as well. And then if we have time, read out a couple of mock drafts, but if not, we'll get to that throughout the rest of the week. Let's start off with this Max Crosby update and there was a report or I guess an article put out there by Albert Breer over at sports illustrating and there was a lot in this article about the latest happenings, latest rumblings, AJ Brown stuff and of course, Max Crosby as well. And so Albert Breer believes and he's saying that he's leaning towards a Max Crosby trade happening and he said maybe this week it could happen. So that's really interesting. I mentioned there has to be some needle threading involved obviously with the contract situation,
compensation situation, all that because obviously those are big sticking points when it comes to do like this, plus you know, Max Crosby's been very adamant that he's a raider, but a lot of people believe it's time for him to move on and go to an organization that's more in contention because while the raiders do have the number and overall pick and a new coach and everything, probably going to take a couple of years for them. And there isn't a ton out there right now about, you know, will it happen? Will it not? I think there are people on both sides of like, yeah, it's going to happen or no, no way, it's not going to happen. But Albert Breer seems to think something is going to because he's leaning towards that side of things. But Albert Breer said, quote, we should know soon enough which path the raiders are taking with teams like Dallas, Chicago, Baltimore, Buffalo, New England, Philadelphia, and the Rams keeping tabs on his availability. So Albert Breer suggesting here that the Ravens are in fact keeping up with Max Crosby and what's going on with Las Vegas and Crosby is that situation evolving or not, Crosby
would be an unbelievable addition of the Ravens past rush, but there are certain questions about yes, what would the raiders want? What would the contract situation look like? Of course, Crosby has big base money on his deals, but, you know, he can be moved and that can be worked around depending on the team's situation. But for Baltimore, I think it does come down more to the compensation. We know Crosby is an absolutely incredible player. I mean, there are no ifs ands or buts about that. If he is available and he is graded or what not, he would be one of the best players on the move this entire off season, you know, 10 sacks last season for the raiders in 15 games. He only had one season below 10 sacks in the past four years and has never had a season ever in his NFL career below seven. So he is someone that is the Ravens looked to bolster their past rush. He would be incredible, but for the raiders, there have been conflicting kind of not reports, but I guess conflicting thought processes on what the raiders could be asking
for Mike Floreo, Pro Football Talk. He said that per league source for him, the raiders are looking for two first round picks and a player and I'd assume that'd be a good young player for Max Crosby who is 28 years old and he'll be 20, he's about 20 and a half years old right now. Albert Brear seems to think that might not be the case and he actually believes that, you know, the package for Crosby, he believes it's, you said, quote, I also believe though that it'll be difficult to find the hole that the raiders got for Clill Mac eight years ago or with Dallas got for Michael Parsons last year or with the Dolphins received for Lemmy Tunsell in 2019. All those guys straight for packages fronted by two first round picks. All those guys were also much younger nearing the ends of their rookie deals. So that situation changes things for me if the package does end up dropping. Now I don't think the raider, I mean, again, I guess it depends on what they're for agency plans or who they're potentially going after. There are a lot of updates with that and rumblings and we've talked about those rumblings
before even relating to the Ravens. But if this is like a one first round pick type thing like you trade away 14 from Max Crosby and a younger player, is that Trent and Simpson, is that Tavius Robinson, is that Rashad Bateman, TJ Tampa, I'm just listening off some younger players that the raiders could be as in and I don't know, do make a deal like that from Max Crosby. It's an intriguing thought process because I think the player, the Ravens, can get a 14 there. I believe going to be a lot of really solid offensive lineman available at 14 who could be 10 plus your starters for you. You could look at wider sewers if one of those guys drops like Jordan Tyson or McIleman obviously car now tape and I don't really expect him to fall to 14. There could be an edge rusher that falls to the 14, the youth feel confident about you don't have to trade that 14th pick and you could save the money, I guess, depending. And I don't know if the Ravens would restructure or extend or whatever for Crosby. But it is something that like the Ravens should not be afraid to make a big move, but they
also in my opinion can't give up too much. And look, I'm all for the Ravens, given up a first round pick. Like I'm all for dream scenario for me, for being honest is the Ravens trade from Max Crosby and they give away, it's not going to happen because the raiders would want 14, but they do like their 2027 first and maybe like a 2028 third or something or second. If they want to first say, hey, what about we push that a year down the line, not going to be as valuable as the 14th pick, because ideally the Ravens are a lot more competitive than the last season. But I would do like, hey, 2027 first, 2028 second and I'll just throw Trent and Simpson's name in there just because he's the first young defensive player I thought so we'll just throw Trent and Simpson in there. That's the best of all worlds for me. I'd still be open to it at 14 if there's not anything else attached to it. If it's 14 and a young defensive player that's fine to me at least, although I know there are pros and cons to that and it's not like a, you know, like a snap finger decision at something that I think a lot of people don't have to think about there.
But Crosby has dealt with his fair share of injuries over the course of his career, not in terms of like season ending injuries or anything along those lines. He's someone that has been relatively durable in that regard, but has had a lot of just, he's banged up type deals, but even still, he is that elite past rusher, we know the Ravens need to improve there. Their past rush was a disaster. Now, there are a lot of alternative options. And again, if the Ravens can secure a Trey Hendrix in or Jalen Phillips or Bradley Chubb, and that also gives you the ability to sign one or two really good off into Diamond Infraagency and keep pick 14, I probably take that over Max Crosby at this point because he just gives you more variety. And I think that that pathway, if it's just Crosby and nothing else, like you can't send it, sign any offensive linemen, you can't draft someone at 14, does your picks in Las Vegas. But you have Max Crosby, that's still like, hey cool, Max Crosby's on the team. But we know the Ravens needs go beyond just the past rusher dilemma that they have.
It's certainly a need, but you also have to protect the Mario got to get some past rushers in the building. You got to figure out some of your other sneaky needs as well, you know, we've talked a lot about those. Crosby's a player you should absolutely keep tabs on. I think the Ravens are doing their due diligence. I think that is the correct thing to do. And if Crosby lands in Baltimore, I'd be ecstatic. I want to see what the trade package would be, but I'd be ecstatic because he is that needle mover type of move when he's healthy. You can have him across from Mike Green and, you know, some of these other guys, I think that would be incredible. But there are other factors to look at there. And, you know, if I had to say today, what I trade for Max Crosby, if it's pick 14, would it a young defensive player or maybe a reshab bateman? My answer would probably be yes, but the only way I would say no is if there is a clear path to where the Ravens can get a past rush or maybe not like 80% of Max Crosby. And then two or three other upgrades across your team and for agency with that extra money
and pick 14, that is where I would say no. So a lot of different conversations to be had there coming up though in the second part of the show. So Lamar Jackson being praised by some elite wide receiver prospects, stay tuned plenty coming up on the show. right now you can take advantage of that really really cool stuff but let's talk a little bit about Lamar Jackson getting some really nice praise from a couple of elites wide receiver prospects now McKay lemon over at USC he got a lot of praise from Steve Smith earlier we talked about that and how Steve thinks McKay could be a really good fit for the Ravens a kind lemon during his combine podium interview said that it would be a blessing to play with Lamar Jackson and then he met with the Ravens over the course of combine we can say quote Lamar is one of the best quarterbacks to be in that offense would be a blessing Jordan Tyson Arizona state wide receiver he was asked about the Ravens he said that he met with them the combine as well that will be amazing to play with Lamar Jackson and say flowers and he said that Baltimore tried to trip them up on a couple questions but he didn't bite on those because we know Eric Acosta and this Ravens team very calculated but it comes in these interviews and what they're looking for so if you ace that interview like Malik Haistar to did last season the red star prospect that's very very impressive
and again what I've said about these guys again Tyson is really intriguing fits a lot of what the Ravens need the injury situation for him though and Tyson said that you know that stuff to him is stuff that he's like he feels good everything's good but he's something well Tyson at least that's a I don't even want to call it a red flag it's just more of like he's had a big injury yesterday over the course of his college career and something teams are going to monitor Tyson though kind of downplayed it from McKay lemon obviously you know he's on the smaller side so Baltimore doesn't necessarily need the McKay lemon prototype receiver at this point but again talent is talent and if you can play you can play obviously Carnot Tata somebody as well that would be unbelievable in a Baltimore uniform but as I mentioned I don't really expect him to to fall to Baltimore so again like this all kind of even ties back into our first segment of like if the Ravens go out there and if they do maybe trade for a crossby again if that involves 14 none of these guys are on the board for them in my opinion but if you get a guy like Hendrickson or Cleo Mack you know he said he's going to play and that's
someone that a lot of people are kind of targeting for the Ravens because of the connection with Jesse Mincer him and Tony Jefferson or two guys that people are naming right now if you can fill up those needs and you're not feeling as pigeonholed into one specific all mammal we didn't really get a garden infrasion see we really need to pick a guard at 14 regardless of how higher low they are on the board that's not how Baltimore likes to operate they like to have flexibility they take the talent they figure it out later and for the Ravens that's what they need to do that's exactly what they need to do in this situation but in order to get there and feel the most confident they can is something I've been saying for a while here you need to address those needs first now it's not again you're not forcing yourself guys aren't fit guys aren't fit if you feel more confident in a specific draft class in a position over for agency in a specific position like for example I don't think the wide receiver class in for agency this year based off of Baltimore needs is that great like I just I'm not really impressed with a lot of the guys I'm contrasting going to get you could maybe sign a guy on a minimum minimum or close to it but there's not like that I'm
guess there are a couple but you're probably paying decent amount of money there so I feel a lot better in the edge for agent class I feel a lot better in the guard for agent class and to me I think that you'll have a real opportunity if you're the Ravens to address those bigger needs with a better for agent class and I'm not saying the the draft class at guard is weak or the draft class at edge like there's still talent to players there but I just I'm not really a huge fan of the wide receiver class in for agency so if you're able to address those needs the other ones and you get to 14 and there is a Carnot taste there near in the face you run that card up if there's a Jordan Pison or a McIleman you can have a serious conversation about those guys because you're not saying to yourself man well if we pass on a guard now or if we pass on an edge now we're not going to get the most value at a position group because well we didn't sign anybody in for agency so it all goes hand in hand I know we know this but stuff like this and
again like these guys are super impressive players I'd be okay with either them in Baltimore again I think the Ravens do need to do need a bigger body player but if a guy can play a guy can play I'm not going to knock a guy on his side so I'm pumped and I cannot wait for this whole process to start up again we're a week away from for agency the tampering period beginning on March 9th so let the games begin for the Baltimore Ravens that's all I have to hear today on Lockdown Ravens thank you so much for tuning into the show on the web should like and subscribe button in video form and follow along subscribe and audio form for five days a week plus more of daily Ravens coverage coming up we'll have the squad show at 730 p.m. Eastern time as well as our regularly scheduled programming on Tuesday morning so be sure to stay tuned I'll see you right back here soon on Lockdown Ravens snoring gasping during sleep feeling fatigued wake up to Zepp Bound to his appetite the first and only FDA approved prescription medicine for moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea OSA and adults with obesity Zepp Bound is an injectable prescription medicine that may help adults with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea OSA and obesity to improve
