Mass Timber Market Updates - Feb 2022 - Week Six
About this episode
In this week's update, it is with thanks to the Forest Business Network that we head to Portland Oregon in April for the International Mass Timber Conference. The first sod was officially turned at Timberlink’s NeXTimber manufacturing facility at Tarpeena South Australia. Construction has started on a nine-storey building in Mayfair designed by Piercy & Co, featuring a hybrid steel and exposed cross-laminated timber (CLT) frame. Mortenson, in partnership with the City of Tempe, Urban Development Partners, PGIM Real Estate, among others celebrated the topping out of The Beam on Farmer. One of Canberra’s newest office buildings will be made using a revolutionary engineered timber product instead of traditional concrete. Stora Enso invests EUR 9 million in an automated CLT (cross-laminated timber) coating line at the Ybbs sawmill in Austria.
