A 65-year-old woman from Marshall, Missouri lost her life in a two-car crash Tuesday afternoon in Sailing County. It happened around 1.15 p.m. on South Odell Avenue, pulling in a pedestrian and leaving others hurt. The driver of a 2014 Ford Focus was heading south when it slammed into the back of a 2023 Ford. That force sent both cars off the left side of the road, and the newer Ford ended up hitting a woman standing nearby. The 65-year-old behind the wheel of the 2023 Ford was pronounced dead right there at the scene. Focus and Marshall are feeling the weight of this, as all involved are locals from the tight-knit community. The pedestrian, a 32-year-old Marshall woman, got seriously injured and was rushed by medical helicopter to a hospital near Kansas City. Meanwhile, the 42-year-old man driving the focus only had minor injuries.
