From ABC News, Wall Street Now, stocks clawed back some of their losses from earlier this week as oil prices fell slightly. The Dow added 508 points or nearly 1%. The S&P gained 65 and the NASDAQ grew 251. The price for a barrel of Brent crude fell 2.8% to settle at $104. Diesel prices in the US, meanwhile, hit a new record of more than $6 a gallon thanks to the Iran War disrupting the flow of fuel. It took some pressure off inflation, which showed US consumers paid 3.4% more for gas, food, and other costs last month compared to a year ago. Traders are now betting on an interest rate hike at the Federal Reserve Board's meeting this month. ACV auctions, whose digital marketplace connects wholesale buyers and sellers of vehicles, soared 44%. After coparts said it would pay $10 in cash for each of the company's shares.
