Mark Bunker Runs for Clearwater Council, Challenging Scientology

0:00In Tampa Bay, it's March 5th, and here's what is going on. Former Clearwater City Council member, Mark Bunker, is running again for seat 5. The seat is currently held by Lena Tashera, who is not seeking re-election. Sam Wilson, District Director for U.S. Representative Anna Palina Luna, has also filed for the seat. Clearwater has a long history of tension with the Church of Scientology, dating back to 1975, when the group first arrived under A, false name. Church-linked companies have bought up much of the downtown real estate, complicating city development plans. Bunker has opposed Scientology for more than 20 years, and spoke out of our fraud and human trafficking allegations during his previous time on the Council. He says his willingness to address the Church directly sets him apart from others.
