Mandating vaccines shouldn’t be a restaurant worker’s job

Recode Daily

About this episode

In some parts of the US, customers in bars and restaurants are now required to show proof of vaccination against Covid-19 in order to enter the business. This can give servers, hosts, and bartenders peace of mind when they go into work, but it also puts the burden of enforcing the rules on those same employees. As Recode’s Rebecca Heilweil (@rebheilweil) explains, this can mean less tip income and an increasingly hostile work environment.  Enjoyed this episode?
