Manchester Braces for Britain First's St George's Day March

0:00On April 17th, Manchester's gearing up for a massive police operation tomorrow, as Britain first holds its end George's Day march through the city, center. A senior cop says it'll be bigger than Derby Day, with hundreds of officers on duty to handle around 1,000 supporters starting at noon on-store. Street under Piccadilly Station. The group plans to kick off marching at 1.15pm, heading to St. Peter's Square for a rally around 2pm. Meanwhile, a counter-protest by anti-racism groups under this Britain first is set for Piccadilly Gardens, drawing another 1,000 people. This comes after ugly clashes back in February during their last event, where 11 arrests happen to mid-fights with counter-protesters. Footage showed scuffles in the gay village and Castlefield, and police faced heat for supposedly losing control. Now cops have extra powers in place, like a section 34 dispersal order and section 60 for stop-and-searches, plus removing face.
