Man Wields Axe at Police, Dog Bites Officers

0:00On March 2nd, a man in Burmanzi faces attempted murder charges after attacking police officers with an axe while his dog bit two of them during a call-out. Officers from the Central South Unit arrived at a home on Marine Street in the Dickens Estate on Sunday, March 1st, at 3.21 in the afternoon. They were therefore an ongoing investigation when the suspect, a man in his 40s, came at them with axes. Both been officers also suffered axe wounds and ended up in the hospital. Luckily, their injuries weren't life-threatening, and they've been discharged. A third officer had a minor injury that didn't need further care. Police tasered the man at the scene and seized his cane-corso dog, which is now in kennels.
