Man Stabbed to Death in Birmingham, Murder Investigation Launched

0:00On March 4th, West Midlands Police have named 30-year-old Ali Alshmari as the man stabbed to death in Birmingham's Alumrock area. Officers were called to Bridge Road on the afternoon of March 3rd, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. A murder investigation is now underway after the Spatill Street attack. The incident happened near a local primary school, prompting a quick cordon of the area by emergency services. A woman who suffered hand injuries during the event has since been released from hospital. Police have praised the community's response, with many sharing CCTV, dash cam and phone footage to aid the probe. Extra officers are patrolling the neighborhood to provide reassurance amid the shock. A 32-year-old man was arrested nearby and remains in custody on suspicion of murder. Investigators recovered a knife, believed to be the weapon and its under-examination. Sler TEAM are Arms' teams, attended as standard procedure for such public incidents.
