A man's been flown to hospital after being shot twice at a home on the central coast in a suspected, targeted attack. Tom Saker has more. The 37 year old victim is now in a serious but stable condition after being airlifted to hospital. He was shot in the hand and abdomen around 6am this morning. His shooter is still on the run. He was last seen fleeing the home on Lake Edge Avenue in Berkeley, Val in a silver great wall, but with roof racks and a roll bar wearing a balaclava. Police believe it was a planned and targeted attack. The victim is known to police. According to witnesses and police at least two shots were fired following yelling and a struggle. But the motivation so far is unclear. Alana Cousins from the cafe right across the road was opening her store at the time. The victim is a customer, his partner ran there for her help. We heard a big bang and then one of my customers come running out of their house saying that
a boyfriend had been shot. Police from Wyong have assigned a strike force to investigate the shooting as they rushed to track down the armed and dangerous offender who was described as a young man in his late teens or early 20s. We believe at this stage that there was one occupant inside that car responsible for the shooting. We know that the victim is known to police. We do believe it was a targeted attack. Police say it's far too early to tell whether this is part of city's ongoing gangland war. Anyone who sees a youth fitting that description is urged to stay away and ring police.
