On April 10th, a 44-year-old man from Manchester, named Damien Morrison, flew into a jealous rage and attacked his partner during a holiday at a game. Caravan Park near Briddington in Yorkshire. He accused her of saying another guy's name, smashed the caravan door, slashed two of her car tires, and punched her in the face, causing cuts and bruises. The couple had been in a rocky six-year relationship and shared a child. But things boiled over when Morrison got drunk and turned confrontational. She tried to calm him down and even handed over the car keys to get him to leave, but he wouldn't budge, shoving her around and trapping her in the bedroom. She fought back by punching him and barricading the door, then called 999 as he forced his way in. Police arrived to find his blood everywhere from cutting his own hand on the tires, plus her phone and keys tossed outside. Damage to the caravan hit 6,400 pounds. In whole Crown Court, Morrison emitted assault-causing actual bodily harm and criminal damage from
June 6th last year. With 56 prior convictions, including violence against partners, the judge called him a high risk and handed down a two-year suspended sentence. Plus rehab, a monitoring order, and a 10-year restraining order keeping him away from her Lincolnshire home. She wants no contact now, and while he's dodging jail for the moment, that program better straighten him out before history repeats.
