Man Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter of Elderly Stranger

The random attack left the victim with fatal injuries, and the attacker pleaded guilty at Birmingham Crown Court this Monday. Sentencing is set for a later date. The incident happened around 3.30 pm on January 14th last year along Soho Road in Handsworth. The two men had just arrived separately at the stop when the suspect grabbed the elderly man's walking stick and pushed him off the curb into the road, passes by rush to help the grandfather, who suffered a fractured skull and severe brain bleeding. He was taken to hospital, but passed away five days later, despite medical efforts. His family described him as a loving ex-army man who taught them to respect the law.
