Man Jailed for Firebombing School, Claiming Abuse

A 59-year-old man has been sentenced to four and a half years in jail for fire bombing a high school in Australia's New South Wales, South, coast. Steel Wilson pleaded guilty to breaking in and destroying property after throwing homemade Molotov cocktails at Eden Marine High School in December, 2024. Earlier this week, the Beggar District Court heard that Wilson targeted the Science Lab, English classrooms and staff rooms because he claimed to have, been sexually abused by two teachers there as a teenager. He believed there was a pedophile ring operating from those areas. The attack caused $580,000 in damage and forced the school to close temporarily. Luckily, three cleaners starting their shift at 3 a.m. spotted the flames early and called for help, which stopped the fire from spreading further. Police caught Wilson quickly thanks to school CCTV footage and his DNA on bottles left behind. He was arrested just days after the incident.
