A 26-year-old man from Durham faces serious charges after a road rage shooting that killed a garner father of five and a later gun battle with. Police. Solomon Thomas Owens is accused of murdering Joseph Joey Adams back in a fit of road rage. He's also charged with attempted first degree murder and assaulting law enforcement officers with a firearm. The trouble started when Raleigh SWAT officers tried to arrest Owens for Adams' death. He allegedly fired at them during the raid. In late February, Raleigh police shared new details from their five-day investigation into the shootout at a North Raleigh apartment complex.
