A 27-year-old man from Gadsden has died after a bad crash on Interstate 59 in Trussville. It involved his car slamming into the back of a big rig late Monday night, turning a routine drive into tragedy. The wreck went down just after 10pm near the Chalkville Road exit. Saleh Ali Muhammad Meflahi was alone in his 2016 Kia Soul when it hit a 2021 Peter Bill tractor trailer. He got rushed to UAB Hospital in Birmingham with serious injuries, but passed away early two-day morning. These highway smashes remind us how fast things can go wrong out there. Stay troopers from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Highway Patrol Division are digging into what caused it now. No word yet on charges or other drivers involved. Stay safe on those Interstate folks, buckle up and watch the road ahead. That's your update from Birmingham News Today, powered by AI. I'm Corey with the story.
