Man Dies in Carbon Hill Crash, No Seatbelt

0:00Birmingham's story is making news on March 13th. A 29-year-old man from Carbin Hill died in a single vehicle crash last week. Jonah Evan Earl Johnson was driving his 2017 Ford F-250 when it left the road around 9.15 pm on Thursday, March 12th. He hit a utility pole, flipped over, and since he was not wearing a seatbelt, he got thrown from the vehicle. Officials declared him dead right there at the scene. The wreck happened on McDade Road, near Atkins Road, just under a mile south of Carbin Hill in Walker County. This stretch is a local road, and the crash shut it down briefly while crews responded. No other vehicles were involved, and there's been little word from the community so far. Folks in Carbin Hill are no doubt shaken by the loss of a local resident in his prime. Troopers from Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Highway Patrol Division are still digging into what caused the truck to veer off. They have not released more details yet.
