Apex police in North Carolina arrested a man in his 40s named Daniel Swain at a car wash after he allegedly made threats against President Donald Trump. This went down Tuesday afternoon at Tidal Wave Auto Spa on Lake Pine Drive when someone spotted a suspicious vehicle and called it in. Officers rode up around 2.30 pm the next day and found Swain plus some threatening messages scribbled on his car. He was heading from South Carolina up toward Washington DC which raised red flags quick. The secret service jumped in to help investigate and as a safety move they searched his vehicle for any explosives, standard protocol for these kinds of threats. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation assisted on scene 2. Swain got hauled to Wake County Detention Center on charges like resisting an officer, possessing methamphetamine and a fake license plate. No federal charges dropped yet and local cops wrapped their probe passing into the district

attorney's office. Secret service is handling any bigger questions so we'll see if more charges stick as this plays out. From your city, powered by AI, this is Durham News Today. I'm Corey with The Story.
