Man Arrested for Peterborough Shooting, Faces Serious Charges

On March 8th, around 4pm, officers responded to an apartment on George Street North, where a robbery turned violent. A 39-year-old woman was shot during the confrontation and airlifted to a hospital in Toronto, while her 47-year-old partner escaped, injury. Police say the incident ties into the local drug scene. The suspect, Chevy Millwood, had been under strict court orders since this year, barring him from weapons. He faced a 10-year prohibition on firearms, crossbows, ammo, and explosives, plus a lifetime ban on certain prohibited items. Earlier this week, around 9.30pm, Peterborough officers teamed up with Durham Police for a search at a home near Simcoe Street South, and Wellington Road in Ashewa. They arrested Millwood and seized a loaded gun from his belongings. He's now charged with two counts of attempted murder with a firearm, robbery with a firearm,
