Welcome to NBA News Today. Two minutes of updates that matter to NBA fans, hit subscribe and stay connected. The 2025 NBA draft class has made a strong start overall with top picks like Cooper Flag and BJ Edgecomb shining right away. But not every high selection has clicked yet in the league. Common Malooak, the 10th overall pick by the Phoenix Suns, has seen limited action this season. The Suns got that pick in the trade, sending Kevin Durant to Houston. For just 19, the 7-foot 3-quarter inch center from Duke is still raw with a massive 7-foot 6- and 3-quarter inch wingspan and over 250 pounds of frame. Phoenix is pushing for the playoffs so they're not rushing him into the mix. Malooak has played in 26 NBA games, averaging only 5.3 minutes with stats like 1.8 points and 1.6 rebounds per game. That makes sense for a developmental big man on the contender. His real breakout has come in the Glee where he's averaging 17.4 points, 13.4 rebounds

and 2 blocks over 5. Games at 48.6% shooting. On Saturday, he led the Valley Suns to a 112-105 win over the Texas Legends with 24.17. Rebounds 2 blocks and more. Looking ahead, expect most of Malooak's minutes in the Glee this year as Phoenix chases the Lakers for 6th in the West. He made Kobe Brea, a second-round pick, added 14 points in that game too, with his tools Malooak could carve out a real role down the line. A quick thank you to our sponsor of today's episode.
