About this episode
Today, we're talking about the leadership, feelings and work required to make a big shift. We explore the different stages of competence (unconscious incompetence, conscious incompetence, conscious competence, unconscious competence/mastery). And, talk about moving through them to make bold moves.
"The only thing that keeps us from where we are today and the thing we want that's over there is the fact that to get from here to there is relatively uncomfortable. We lose that connection to our mastery."
A few questions to explore after listening to the episode:
>> Where are you currently feeling unconscious incompetence? (Those places where you don't even know what's going on but you wish you did.)
>> Where are you in conscious competence doing something that you don't ever want to do again? Where can you drop something that you're actually pretty good at because it's not what you're here to do?
>> Where are you going to celebrate your unconscious competence or mastery? What are you good at that you don't even have to think about? (It comes naturally to you and maybe other people notice or even point it out.)
Main takeaway: big shifts and bold moves are uncomfortable. But, most of us want an outcome and a life worth feeling incompetent for little bursts of time.
Give yourself a break. And, let's make BOLD moves!
